Tharl Racers of Gor: Schedule Leagues Results Stats Information
TRG Conduct Guidelines
Racing Etiquette:
By definition, since we are in Gor and we are riding tharlarions, racing is and should be aggressive. Fighting to break from the pack and surge ahead is what makes racing these prehistoric-looking beasts fun. However, Division Races are never combat races and the objective of every rider is to get their individual animal ahead, and not attack or purposefully hinder racers. Revenge, jealousy, pettiness, or conspiracy have no place on our tracks.
1) You may not purposefully ambush another rider.
2) You must follow the intended course. Do not skip any of the features put on the track by the track creator.
3) You are allowed to backtrack to catch a feature that was missed and then continue, but only if it can be done without racer interference.
4) Second Life is well known for lag issues, but this is not the cause of every incident. If you are thrown from the track for whatever reason and you cannot get back into the race, please disqualify yourself to the officials and stay out of the way of the other racers entering only when they have passed so that a fair race can be run.
Audience Etiquette:
We have visitors at the various tracks all of the time. Do not teleport anyone during a race. After the races begin. please use the time between the posting of the results and the Countdown for the next race to teleport in friends and family. During the 10-second countdown for a race, do not cheer or chat, so that the racers can see the countdown in the chat window.
Please respect whoever is taking the time to interest new people into becoming potential racers by not giving unsolicited advice.
Giving your unsolicited opinion in IMs, correcting people in what they say, calling out defaming remarks in local chat are all ways to make the races a very unhappy place to be. Our goal is to make racing fun. That alone will bring people into the sport and grow the group.
1) Watch what you say. If you make defaming remarks without proof, disciplinary action will be taken.
2) Stay out of racers IMs. The racers are trying to concentrate on the race. Keep your comments until after the races are completely over.
3) Stay out of strangers IMs. If they want your opinion, they will ask for it.
4) Do not give racer instructions unless you are an Official or a Starter.
Disciplinary Actions:
Even though we have administrators, and officials, and starters, we are all here to have fun. Policing the actions of others is never fun. Trying to keep everyone happy does sometimes take a firm hand though, so here is what will happen if someone is being detrimental to the races, the Tharl Racers of Gor, or just being a jerk. Please report behavior that makes you uncomfortable to Hips Wrigglesworth. This is the order of action, not necessarily all done at once.
1) A gentle discussion to get everyone’s side of the situation with the one accused of misconduct and those who have a grievance.
2) An opportunity for the accused one to apologize to those that were effected.
3) Action determined by the Commission.
